Heidi Mottram
Heidi Mottram worked in the world of art, fashion and textiles for several years before establishing her own line in 2007. A graduate from London College of Fashion and Central St Martin’s, Heidi started her career working with many major international designers including Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson.
Heidi is a specialist in eel skin as a textile and is considered the UK guru in the use of the product in design and fashion. She has discovered new ways to work with and manipulate the skins, including pleating, ruching, pin tucking and folding to create new textures and shapes.
Heidi has created outstanding works of art that have been sold in galleries across the UK, as well as developing a collection of corsets and eel skin designs for bags, purses and wallets. She continues to develop the use of eel skin, working on commissions and projects in the art, design and fashion fields and is always looking for new arenas for her creative talents.
HEMYCA
HEMYCA Ltd Helen and Myra the designer’s behind this emerging brand graduated from the London College of Fashion, and went on to work for leading designer’s Roland Mouret and Ben de Lisi, and well known high street retailers, for many years, they were inspired to create a unique vision.
HEMYCA launched their first collection in December 06 and have recently shown their SS08 Collection at On/Off during September London Fashion Week. In November 2007 they were announced as runners up in The Whistles Award for New Designer presented by Amanda Burrows, Brand Director at Whistles at Fashion Expo. They have recently featured on a plethora of television shows; appearing on Britain’s Next Top Model, Living TV in a documentary offering up fashion advice and style tips and featuring on Channel 4, as Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix “Must Have Designer Label”. And it doesn’t stop there; HEMYCA are set to feature in an upcoming BBC1 primetime fashion drama series, and tackling music videos too, with Kayne West’s new music video!
